Question : Problem: Acer Built-In Webcam Not Working

Acer Internal Webcam Not Working Since Vista SP1 update installed & External Logitech Webcam does not work either

Acer Aspire 5680 running Vista Premium with SP1 built-in webcam not working since SP1 installed.
Tried many different things to get built-in Orbicam to work, all unsuccessfully. There are three different
possible manufacturers webcam that could be installed in the Acer, and I tried all three drivers and
utilities and none of them worked. So I gave up and went out
purchase a Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebooks, and that does not work either. When I disable
the built-in webcam via device manager, it reinstalls the software automatically when I reboot.
When I try Logitech Quickcam on another laptop running Vista Premium with SP1 and no built-in
webcam it works just fine. So my theory is that somehow there is a conflict between the internal
webcam and the Logitech external.

So I am looking for help with how to keep the internal webcam from reinstalling itself and perhaps
allow the logitech to work, or actually figure out why the built-in stop working when I installed SP1.

I just want a webcam,. internal or external, to work on the Acer Aspire 5680

You should ununstall the USB drivers from Device Manager.

Remove everything under USB(unplug the camera first) and also the image devices like your camera.
Reboot and vista should reinstall the USB drivers then you can try the logitech again.
