Question : Problem: Joining a 2nd HDD into Primary HDD Partition if possible.

I have 2 computers which need to utilise their secondary IDE HDD because they are being filled on the 1st but the 2nd is larger. I am buying Partition Magic 8 and would like to know if this would create 1 large drive Logical or otherwise to relieve the 1st drive from being to full to operate XP on 1 and 98 on the other. other related answers on here do get close to answering it but no answer this outright.

Any other solutions would be appreciated!

Answer : Problem: Joining a 2nd HDD into Primary HDD Partition if possible.

Even if you were using JUST XP, you cannot extend or span the partitions because the C: partition cannot be extended or expanded.

You have two options:
1.  Reinstall fresh to a larger disk (what I would do)
2.  Try using Ghost or Acronis True Image to image the existing drive to a new, larger drive.  It SHOULD work ok and you have the original as a backup - but imaging software is not 100% guarenteed especially when it comes to expanding partition sizes, so you do take some risk in doing this.
