Question : Problem: IRC

I have been tring to download an IRC for over a week without any success. I have a Packard Bell 486DX My modem is 9600. what am I doing wrong. I can't even get the exe file. And if I did I don't know what to do from there. I need really plain  english because I don't know all the computer terms.

You have to download the right type of IRC-program. Download one for PC-computers, not for unix-systems. There is one called WS_IRC I think. Have a look at www.shareware.com.
Next, you probably have to configure the IRC program (client) to connect to a proper IRC - server. Try to get the name of any server near you. Perhaps it starts with irc. ....
