Question : Problem: Linksys Wireless Adapter WUSB54GC: How to Auto-Reconnect to an Access Point After PC Reboot

I have a PC that is connected to one of our network access points via a Linksys wireless adapter WUSB54GC. It's setup as sort of a robot that performs automated tasks including playing hold music over our phone system. It reboots periodically, either through a Scheduled Task/automated shutdown.exe -r -f process or after a power failure. After rebooting, it often cannot reconnect to the network for some reason and I must manually/physically open the Linksys wireless software and press the Refresh button and then the Connect button.

Is there a way to automatically execute a refresh/reconnect?

If a command exists I had the idea to either set it up as a Scheduled Task or place it into the Startup folder.

Hi

Rather let windows manage the network connection instead of Linksys.

On your wireless network adapter properties / Wireless Netowork Conection properties in windows, change the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".  Set-up your connection on the network adapter.  Also make sure that the Wireless Zero Configuration service is on automatic

Cheers
