Question : Problem: Comparison of two HP scanner models
|
|
Hi,
Our company plans to buy one of the scanner models: HP 8300 and HP G4010. We looked at the spec and the selling price, we found that G4010 is much cheaper than 8300 (about 4 - 10 times). We would like to ask: is there any significant difference between the two models such that the 8300 is such expensive than G4010?
Thanks.

Main difference between 8300 series, and G4000 series is in what comes with them. 8300 have a lot of software included in price, and also comes with sheet feeder.
Which one is better for you depends on what you want to use it for. If only for occassional small volume the G4000 is probably better, scan performance is likely to be slightly better than 8300.
If you need to handle large quantities of scanned documents (Particularly for OCR) then 8300 is probably better choice despite increased price. You can just dump 100 sheets or so in hopper, and leave it to get on with things. Doiing same volume with G40000 will take YOU half a day feeding sheets in manually.
