I have connected a Xerox PE16 (printer/scanner/fax) wich have a USB port to a print server (DLINK DP-301U). I can print but I can't scan any document. I have an message error: port busy. Is there a way to use the scanner via the network ? Thanks for your help.

Most (all?) usb scanners will only scan to the PC they're attached to. This includes the PE16. Scanning across the network, whether via a PC or a printserver, is not supported. You need to attach it to a PC, scan to a folder on that PC and pick up the file from there, over the network. If you set it up correctly (e.g. by mapping the scan folder to a drive letter on your PC), that's not really any different from getting the scan directly on your PC. But, of course, it depends on a PC being available for scanning.
For network scanning you need a more expensive MFP, with its own network interface.
