Question : Problem: US Robotics OEM internal modem gives annoying dialog box at shutdown
|
|
I have a US Robotics 56k OEM (3595A model, I think) internal modem on my system, and Windows XP installs it fine. For the most part it works well, but when I shut down my system, I get a dialog box like this.
usrpbda.exe - initialization failed The file could not be initiated because the window is shutting down.
Is there a way to get this to disappear?
Also, this modem seems to have a problem pursuing a dial-up connection when the ISP rings. There have been times when after dialling a number nothing happens, but when I use a normal phone the number rings. What could be causing this trouble?

You can always try the driver first; if it comes in a zip file, you list all the files, then install and try it. If it does not work, delete all the files (you can search them by name from the list) In most cases, if the driver is not suited for the card, it will not accept it even, and refuse to install.
