Question : Problem: I am not able to use my hp 1315 all in one scanner /printer /copier for scanning

When I click on scan nothing is appearing (blank) and when I click on preview,  I get the the error message "An error occured during preview.  If the scanner is in use ,  please wait for it to complete the task,  and the click Preview.

On the display of the scanner,  i see the letter E and the the red led "check paperis flickering,  allthough I just want use it as a scanner not as a printer.

Answer : Problem: I am not able to use my hp 1315 all in one scanner /printer /copier for scanning

it may just be bad, test it on another PC
and check the printer for paper parts in the paper path
