Navigate to "System Folder" > Preferences, and try setting aside (move to the Desktop, for example):
Apple Share Prep
and restart the machine.
If problems worsen or persist (from the same location) pull out AppleTalk, File sharing, TCP/IP
and reboot. Verify network settings for TCP/IP and AppleTalk.
And I have to say: OS 9 ? Wow ! I hope you're making appropriate plans to migrate to current hardware with available parts or even better warranty coverage.
