Question : Problem: RicohRICOH Aficio 1045 PCL 6 - Not able to print hole punches

The Staple and Punch are disabled for some reason. it was working before. However, it was only printing Microsoft word documents and hole-punching them. When I tried to print Excel files with 3 left punches, they just printed out of the top output tray without any punches. Only word docments worked.

Now that I reinstalled the driver, the feature's completely disabled. Here's the message I get if I click the little Baloon by the Punch area: http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/1232/ricoh2qf3.jpg

Go into the printer's properties from the Printers folder (Control Panel -> Printers -> right mouse click on the Ricoh printer and choose Properties).  I can't remember the exact description but look through the tabs and the screens they show for a spot to specify the equipment or features of the printer.  One of the options will be the handling unit or hole puncher.  If you can't find it then please let me know which options you find and I can confirm the one you need.  Save the change by closing with Ok and then see if the option is available.  Basically you need to set the printer and driver up to use it before it will be available as an option in a program when you print.
