Question : Problem: Backup Exec Failure with Error code

Hi,

We have a customer who uses Backup exec 10d for small business server. Just lately it has been failing every night with the same error "fffffe7a - 0xa000fe7a (2684419706)". If you click on the link in the job log you get the following:

"When backing up Microsoft Exchange 5.5 / 2000/2003 individual mailboxes, the message " WARNING: "?Top of Information Store?? " is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify." is returned in the backup log as an exception in Backup Exec.

Exchange has only just started really being used at the site, before that the backups ran fine. If it is Exchange, how do i check for corruption in the DB?

They're running SBS 2003 SP2 and Endpoint protection

Answer : Problem: Backup Exec Failure with Error code

Exchange permissions:

The Backup Exec services account needs to be delegated full Exchange Administrator rights within the Exchange Organization .

To do this on the Exchange Organisation > right click> Delegate control> Exchange Full administrator.

-- Also activate the Mailbox by sending / recieving a few mails. The mailbox name should be a unique one.
