Question : Problem: Change name of server hosting SMS ??

One of our SMS Sites is hosted on a server that will need to change its name, and probably its IP address.  We are not changing anything in SMS (site code, etc), but I know that making the server changes will impact SMS.  What effect will these changes have on our SMS Site and the overall hierarchy?  Can we update a few things in SMS to see the new server configuration, or do we have to completely rebuild the site all over again?

I doubt it, renaming the sms site server is not supported.  All clients find their server by name.  
The only way to do this recommended is to uninstall all the clients, reinstall the site on new location and push clients again.

Once if there is a issue and microsoft finds the site server has been renamed after site installation is done they would provide no support.
