Question : Problem: Remote Printing Solution
|
|
I need to figure out a remote printing solution. I want to print from a RDP session. The host network has a ISA 2004 firewall setup and VPN enabled. The VPN connection is a bit slow to run the manufacturing software locally, so i have a user that uses RDP to use the software. Only problem is he needs to print stuff locally out of the software. I know there's IPP which allows you to print over the web? I thought about putting a VPN router at the remote location and setting up a site to site VPN. How else can I do this?
Thanks helm

In the Terminal Services client under the "Local Resources" tab check the printers box. This will connect his locally attached printer to the terminal server when he logs in.
If this does not work it is probably because the server does not have his printer driver loaded. To load the driver open Printers and Faxes, right click in the empty space and select Server Properties. On the Driver tab click Add.
