Question : Problem: Power Management
|
|
I recently upgraded to an Intel P150 and a generic type Pentium motherboard Model No. KM-T5-V Rev:2.o Main Board. Everything was working fine. Question Relates to the Power Management system which I do not know anything. Firstly, although I had used user select for the times to supend operations and had selected 20 minutes I usually heard 2 beeps after 1 hour and then the system went to sleep. Here is the major question. I replaced the sound card and CDROM with an IDE CDROM and a PCI Plug and Play sound card. The Modem (A USRobotics Sportster which was in before and has been jumpered to work on Com 2) was having conflicts and so I disabled COM 2 in the Bios and removed the drivers in the Control Panel-System window. I no longer get the two beeps and my system does not go into suspend mode. an you tell me what the settings are supposed to be in the BIOS and any suggestions as to what is going on.

Muschep...
Since you haven't mentioned which version of Award BIOS you have I will post here V4.50PG
1) When you start you start the system and see "hit del to enter setup" hit the DEL key on the keyboard
2) Select the power management section Green Function : Enable Green Timer : 30 min (or any number you want) VGA Adaptor : Non-Green or Green if you have one HDD Power Down : 60 (or any number you want) Network Card Installed : No PM Control By APM : Enabled
These are the settings you need in your BIOS
Hope this helped Regards
