Question : Problem: Keyboard error on bootup

I have a Compaq Desktop computer D510, running Windows XP Pro Sp2.  On bootup I am getting a 42 301 error, referencing keyboard not being connected properly.  I have tried several different keyboards but am getting the same error.  Please advise.

If this is a USB device you might try a different port. If it is PS2, you might try using a PS2/USB converter. This would rule out a bade PS2 or USB port (Whichever the case may be.)
I'm assuming that the error occurs at boot. Meaning pre OS load.
