Question : Problem: Erratic Mouse Behavior- Win 2k Notebook
Running a Dell Latitude running Win 2k. One of my users requested an external mouse for his laptop. I proceeded to hook up a USB mouse to the laptop. Seemed to work fine, but user called me the next day and the cursor was moving on its own to the upper right corner of the screen. You could move the cursor around, but it continually moved to the corner. Thinking it was perhaps a conflict with the touchpad or something, I disabled the touchpad to no effect. After a couple restarts it was moving to the bottom left, but no relief from the symptom. I totally removed the external mouse and reinstalled the touchpad software, things seemed to be ok. The user again called me and told me it was moving to the bottom left corner again. I found that indeed it was, but a minute later it stopped and worked fine for 15minutes. Again this morning its working fine, but it seems that the problem may not be resolved. Does anyone have any insight into what would cause this?
Thanks,
Ryan
