Question : Problem: Sony CDRW crx220e1-10 driver

Please help. I've just hooked up this cdrw drive to my pc. It has been recognised in device manager but it says it cannot start, code 10. No cd software was included with it. OS is XP. Do I need a driver and where can i get one? XP says the best driver for the device is installed.

   You have the correct driver. Windows XP provides the correct driver for CD and CDRW.

Make sure you have set up the CD-ROM drive correctly. Did you connect it up as a master or slave drive? Did you set up the Bios to read the new CD-ROM as secondary or slave drive?

Are all the cable connections firmly in place? Pin 1 to Pin 1?

If the above does not fix the problem, boot up to Safe Mode. Uninstall the CD driver, reboot, and let Windows reinstall the driver
