Question : Problem: How to force image to boot from IDE drive

Hi, I have a dead motherboard and looking for ways to transfer the existing image to new hardware. Normally it is an easy process but in this case the drives were in raid and the image tries to boot that way, and I have no access to the same MB to boot up with, and install a different driver set.

The simplest would be if I could somehow force Windows to boot with a standard IDE driver. Is this possible?

My knowledge is not too deep in the boot process. I can load the System Hive and copy - paste or change settings, etc
I have already had an attempt to trasfer the image to a SATA controller as suggested in another answer but the description of the process is not detailed and clear enough so I probably did not do it right but did not work.

Answer : Problem: How to force image to boot from IDE drive

Find an add-in PCI device with the same RAID controller as what your old/dead motherboard had, and you should be able to boot from that. The issue you're seeing is simply because Windows doesn't have a driver loaded for your current IDE controller.
