Question : Problem: Sound Device Missing
|
|
I upgraded this computer to Windows XP Pro and now my sound sevice is missing. When I did the msinfo check there was not device shown. I went to the web site to download the appropriate drivers and once they were installed I got the message that I need Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture High Definition Audio Bus Driver. I went to the Microsoft web site but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Where can I get this driver?
Thanks!

Do this in the order presented:
1. If you haven't already, nstall Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 on the system. That's available here:
http://update.microsoft.com
2. Install Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture High Definition audio bus driver on the system before installing these drivers. That can be found here:
ftp://202.65.194.212/pc/audio/WDM_R180.exe
3. Install the Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/COL15124/ob-40480-1/sp26731.exe
You should be good to go after that.
