Question : Problem: XFX graphics card can't be used with HP XW 8600 workstation
With the card comes to 6 pin cables but the card needs a power supply in the workstation to have an 8 pin connector (which is doesn't). Apparently you can get round it by using 2x4pin to 8pin PCI Express Power Cable. I'm not clear on this and the card and workstation aren't here in front of me. Can somebody tell me if this cable mentioned above would resolve the issue. Also I don't want to have to buy a new power supply really so if the cable above doesn't sort do you know another solution? This is a gtx 280 1gb pci-e card. Please please help. Thank you

Upgrade the PSU.
If you're absolutely dead set against that, you can get the adapters here...
