Question : Problem: Blackberry wont synch w/outlook
|
|
I have a user with a blackberry. We use Outlook 2003 and Exchange Server 2003. Her email is delivered to both her inbox and her blackberry, and she wants to synch contacts and calendar.
When I try to "Configure PIM" in the Desktop Manager's Intellisync software, It tells me "The file or database name associated with MS Outlook is missing" or corrupt, or points to a file of zero length.
I've been to the Blackberry site and tried all their suggestions and nothing has resolved it. Can you help ? Thanks!

I found a hit on this topic that might help -
http://www.bbhub.com/2006/03/29/user-why-wont-my-blackberry-sync-with-exchange-2003/
"You need to delete the Outlook user profile and recreate it, then open Intellysync in the desktop manager and set the Auto tab to *Not* AutoSync the PIM folders."
"At that point you can then go into the PIM settings and make sure you are configured to sync with the Outlook Inbox folder....which is what the default is."
Based on what I'm seeing, it appears that Intellisync normally synchronizes the calendar/contacts easily and maybe the Outlook configuration that Intellisync is 'seeing' is causing it to become confused and think the file is empty (i.e., it's looking for the Outlook data file locally and the local file is missing or empty).
