Question : Problem: Improve Battery Health with an IBM T41p

I have both an IBM T42p and an IBM T41p.

When the battery tools are installed on both the 41 and the 42, the 42 has an additional feature of "Improve Battery Health".  This tool provides a "recondition battery Now" feature that asks you to plug in the laptop and then it drains the battery almost completely and then charges it again.

The T41P seems to not have this option.  How can I enable this, or are there other tools that I can download that will recondition the battery for me.

Hi lasutton,
as a low-tech thing to try which helped my laptop battery loads, you could try running the battery flat then popping the battery into a waterproof bag (such as a freezer bag) and pop it in the freezer overnight! this really does help the battery charge better once connected and charging again!.
