Question : Problem: Network Connection Dropping
I have fiber running to a building next door and I keep losing connectivity to a server in that building. The fiber plugs into a Netgear FS517TS 17-port switch then has 7 Netgear FS524S switches daisy chained to it. When I connect the server to the first switch I have no problem pinging it all day long, but when I connect it to any of the FS524's connected to it I lose connectivity several times a day. Today is bad, I'm losing about every 12th ping packet. What is the best way to troubleshoot this?
Answer : Problem: Network Connection Dropping
I isolated the problem, utilizing a previously unused fiber link to that building and a couple of extra network switches, to a group of computers in the media center.
