Question : Problem: Wifi Problem
|
|
I am having a problem with wifi connection and it's on 2 different notebooks so now I think it might be something I am doing.
We have a company notebook here at work that is used primarily by 1 person. I reformatted this computer with windows xp pro. THe wireless adapter is a D-Link DWL-G650. It is a WEP64 secured network.
Here at the office the wireless works perfectly fine so I know the adapter works. When she takes the computer (home, 2 different hotels, and another company) she can't even see the wireless signal available.
I thought maybe windows was not set as the default wireless manager and that the problem was they didn't look for another wireless manager but it IS set to Windows.
I also set up a wireless router at a friends house last night and my computer (Dell M1330 Vista Ultimate) works with the wireless but my friends (Dell E1505) gets local only.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Rick

Well, I just threw away the card and don't have any more problems now. It was old anyways.
