Question : Problem: WUSB11 v4.0 - Software Install Problem

Hello -

Because of a hard-drive failure, I had to reinstall Windows XP SP2. I used to software supplied with the WUBS11 v4.0 to reinstall the wireless manager and drivers. However, the setup program refuses to install. I click "Setup.exe" and it appears the program tries to launch as I see a box appear for about 1 second, then it disappears. So I figured I would try downloading the most recent drivers/wireless management software for the product from the website. So I downloaded the software and I still have the same problem installing from setup.exe. I attempted to update the drivers by pointing to the drivers/WinXp folder, however it will not allow me to click OK on that folder. It does allow be to point to the Drivers folder but says it can not find a better driver than the one installed.

I am able to connect to unsecured and WPA networks, however I cannot connect to WEP. It tries to connect but then gives a Windows error saying it lost connection with the network/network may be out of range. I know I shouldn't even be using WEP encryptions, but this is for my buddy who has an old router. Any ideas on why I can't connect to WEP?

I would try making sure you have the latest wireless updates from Microsoft, they had several issues that were corrected by these updates although I seem to remember the problem being the opposite of yours (would connect to WEP but not WPA) but its worth a shot.  I have included a couple of links to Microsoft articles on this issue below...
