Question : Problem: ALPS TOUCHPAD - CAN'T UNINSTALL OR REINSTALL - DELL D800
Hello, I have a user that has a Dell Latitude D800 laptop. The Alps Touchpad stopped functioning. My first action was to try to re-install the Alps touchpad drivers (fromt he Dell site) I can download and unzip the file without error. When I try to install the software I get the error "Software installation has been cancelled". I never canceled the installation, the error pops-up aotomatically. I get the same error when I try to uninstall the Alps touchpad from add/remove programs. I have run Adaware & Malware Bytes, hoping it may have been a malicious file causing the error, but neither of them seemed to fix the problem. I have also used the Windows XP Operating disk to run a Windows repair. Any advice/help/tips I can gte to repair, successfully re-install, or successfully un-install the Alps software & drivers woudl be appreciated. Have a nice day.
