Question : Problem: USB device not recognized................<wbr />...USB 2.0 problem
I have a desktop running Win XP Pro SP1. It now gives me a "USB Device not recognized" when any USB 2.0 device is connected (printer, memory stick etc). The only device that appears to work ok is an old USB modem which I suspect is USB 1. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling USB devices on pc and even re-installing a ghost image taken before problem occured but still get same error - is this a software problem or could the hardware be involved ?

try this : Remove all USB drivers with: http://www.ee-stuff.com/Expert/Upload/getFile.php?fid=6853 ---> Now reboot and test. Delete the "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" registry values from: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}
