Question : Problem: Restoring a file using Windows XP Backup program gives message: Insert media#2 for this backup

We recently made a backup of our C: drive using the Backup utility that comes with Windows XP Pro SP2. The backup was made to a 500GB external USB drive without any problem.  We backed up just the Documents and Settings files for all users.  When using the Backup utility to restore files to the C: drive from the backup file that was created on the external drive, the restore process proceeds for a few minutes and then a window appears with a message to "Insert media #2 for this backup".  If you click on OK, the message continues to appear.  If you click cancel, the restore process aborts.  This problem has been asked  previously on Expert-Exchange, but I have not yet found a solution.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer : Problem: Restoring a file using Windows XP Backup program gives message: Insert media#2 for this backup

The backup file was about 3 GB.
Backup completed ok except for backing up a few antivirus folders.
Not sure about the external USB drive formatting.  It is a 500 GB Western Digital formatted to whatever is the default.

Since listing the question, I restored the backup to a single folder on the same external USB drive that contains the bkf file and although I still got the message to "insert media #2", I believe that most of the files were restored.  Then I copied the restored files back to the original C: drive.  The friend I did this for has not complained about any missing files thus far, so I will not worry about it :).
