Question : Problem: How to install and confirgure sftp

I have inherited a larger linux network of which non are gui interface. All of the servers allow only ssh connections and on several servers I need to transfer files to them. Some systems have sftp and others do not. How can I install shtp and configure it to allow limited access for myself.

By default, root logins are disabled (for obvious reasons). If you want to enable root logins, edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config and uncomment
PermitRootLogin yes
