Question : Problem: Replacing fan on Linkstation HD-H250LAN

I have a client with a Linkstation HD-H250LAN that stopped working.  The diagnosis confirms that the fan has stopped working and I need to replace it.  The specs, as sent to me by Buffalo are: 40mm x 10mm 12V fan.

First, has anyone had any experience replacing one of these?   Second, the original part (ADDA part
#AD0412LX-G76) is no longer being manufactured.  I saw in another forum that someone substituted an AD0412HB-G76 fan.  The other option is the AD0412LX-G76-LF. Would either of these units work?  Which would be preferable?
