Question : Problem: removal of CPU from S5000VSA

Can I just pull out a processor and fan from an Intel S5000VSA and not have majpr problems?
It is a Raid 5 box with 3ware controller.
I am at this point because of fan issues. The other sockets fan is fine.

First, make sure the cpu that you wanted to remove is CPU2, not 1.

You should have configuration in bios to disable CPU2 first, and then power down system and remove.
