Question : Problem: UPS no longer turns on

My UPS no longer turns on. I have tried multiple wall outlets and I have tried the reset button on the back. If the problem was the battery, would there be some indication of that? I get no lights, no sounds - nothing. Thanks for any help you can give. I just wanted to check before buying a replacement.

For what it's worth, I have had APC UPS's that would not turn on until a good battery was installed.

According to the manual for the F6C800(couldn't find  the 500)
"Turn on your UPS by pressing and holding the On/Off/Test button for
approximately 3 seconds until the ON LINE Green comes on."
