Which is faster? On my new motherboard there not a place to put the firewire. Why?

USB 1.1, which is 12 Mbits/sec
USB 2.0, which is 480 Mbits/sec
Firewire, which is 400 Mbits/sec
Firewire800, which is 800 Mbits/sec

Firewire uses a different chip than USB and costs money to integrate.  It's also not as popular.
