Question : Problem: irql_not_less_or_equal when using a java application

Hi,

We have built a java swing application at work. we also have a number of Dell Precision 380 computers. When we run the application it appears to run fine, however when a computer is left with the app running for a short while, the user will return to a blue screen.

I have upgraded the RAM and performed memory checks on the old and new RAM modules. It only happens on the Precision 380 computers and not the others. For some reason I kind of feel like it could be the graphics card as all the computers that crash have the same card, however they probably all have the same motherboard also. It mostly happens when Java is running but not always. There is nothing in the event logs at the time of the crash.

Where do I look to solve this issue?

Thanks

Answer : Problem: irql_not_less_or_equal when using a java application

Hi Rindi, this is most definitely a driver related issue. It looks like your java program is causing a conflict with the Dell PC's? The interrupt requests may be the same value causing the BSOD.
Update your drivers on the Dell's and try running without the java program you created too to try & illiminate things?
Do the Dell's have onboard graphics available? if so try that.

good luck.

Andy
