Question : Problem: Synaptic touchpad 'tap-to-click' on HP dv8113 turns itself back on after I have disabled it
|
|
The version number of the "Synaptic pointing device" is v8.0.13
I have been unsuccessful in finding an updated driver.
I have disabled the tap-to-click in several places including the tray icon, mouse properties, and one other place that I can't remember off the top of my head but was suggested by HP support.
In every case, the 'tap-to-click' feature is disabled for anywhere from 5-30 minutes and then turns itself back on.
NOTE: The setting still indicates that it is disabled, but the feature is enabled. In order to turn it off again, I must first click to "enable" the feature then click again to "disable" it for another 30 minutes before it reactivates itself.
Has anyone another way of disabling the tap-to-click feature?

Uninstall the synaptic driver and instead use the standard mouse driver.
