Question : Problem: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG intermittently disconnects from Wifi AP, requires laptop reboot to reconnect

WiFi works fine most of the time, but goes down every few hours or so and cannot be re-established without re-booting computer. The symptoms are:  the ProSET icon in the system tray goes yellow;  access points can be seen, but on attempting to "connect" the ProSET software says "Problem applying profile".  In the meantime other laptops continue to work fine on the same access point.  This happens at home and at work.  Re-booting router doesn't help at all, nor does diabling & enabling radio, however if I do a reboot of the laptop connection is established fine (for a while !...)

In fact I fixed this by DL-ing the latest driver from
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=233125
Strange that they ship new laptops with old drivers.
It has worked fine since then.
