Question : Problem: Genius ColorPage-Vivid 1200XE scanner gets stuck on calibrating

I've got the above scanner and I cannot get it to work.  I have installed the correct drivers and am using Presto! Page Manager as the scanner application but when I try to scan a document is freezes up on the calibrating part.  The scanner lamp is on but I have not seen the scanner arm move.  Do you think this is a software or hardware issue?

I have tried using another application Vue Scan but this doesn't pick up my scanner and gives me this error message.

"No scanner was found attached to your computer.  If you have one, close this tip window, exit VueScan, turn on the scanner and run VueScan again.  See the VueScan Release Notes for more information."

Answer : Problem: Genius ColorPage-Vivid 1200XE scanner gets stuck on calibrating

First install the latest Intel Inf Update, from Intel website.
Then Reboot
Uninstall Programs and completely Erase Folders, as well as drivers, like Nobus stated.
Reboot
Install scanner software, and ONLY when asked plug the USB cable.
