Question : Problem: Games Crashing

Hi all, Just built new computer here are specs:
Motherboard - ASUS A8N-SLI Premium CPU - AMD Athlon 64XP 3500+ Memory - 1GB Corsair Value Select DDR 400 PC3200 Graphics - ATI Radeon x1300 PCI Express HDD - Maxtor 200GB +300GB DVD RW - Sony DW-Q30A
general computing is fine execpt when i play games.
the only to i've tried is Command and Conquer Generals and Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow.
and exactly the same thing happens. the movemant will freeze, the the screen will go black and say "no signal" then music will freeze like a broken record. i've tried updating Bios and drivers with no luck so far.
any help much appreciated!!!

Do you happen to have an extra video card you can try plugging in? That error your recieve leads me to believe that is the problem, trying an extra card would let you confirm that.
You said it didnt have active cooling, is it one of those sapphire cards?
I heard bad things about those sapphire cards and gaming. If you do get a new card down the road, I'd definately look at one with an active cooling system if you plan on doing any gaming.
