Question : Problem: How to interface my macbook to my TV

I am considering adding a netflix dvr to my home network. I see that they sell it for $100, but then you have to subscribe to their premium service at $14/month. It would seem to me that I should be able to skip their dvr and leverage the macbook as my downloading device, then playback to the tv. This would help me avoid paying for more service than I'd use and give me portability via the laptop.

I had purchased a Pyro A/V Link for home video conversion, which I thought I could leverage to interface to the TV, but when I experimented with it last night I was unable to get it working. Though the screen did flash a few times when I'd run something via Imovie. I did a little searching on the apple site, saw that they sell a tv adapter for $20, but thought I'd better check here before spending more money.

I meant "If your TV does  not have HDMI the S-Video / RCA dongle should work for you."
