Question : Problem: Windows Vista opening sound chime distorted

Hi,
Have an Dell Latitude e6500 we have some problems with (Outlook goes very slow but that is another story).

This posting is about the opening Windows Vista chine that plays when the login screen appears.
Each on this laptop it plays a little bit distored or sometimes kind of doubles on itself.
This also can occasionally happen on the chime that occurs after login and then the whoosh Skype sound that plays when skype logs in; but these problems do not occur as much.

Once stared all sounds performs OK.
I just wondered if this indicates another problem that I should be looking into on this laptop

Thanks in advance

Answer : Problem: Windows Vista opening sound chime distorted

imho; this does not point to a problem, it indicates you system is being used 100%, which is normal at startup time.
you can  also configure many softwares NOT to start at startup with msconfig from the run box : go to the startup tab and disable all -  then test
