Question : Problem: Computer hangs after post, RAID 5 config screen

I build computers.  A recent build with a Jetway J966GDAG-PB and a Koutech IO-PESA201 (Jmicron JMB362 chipset) booted past POST to the JMicron RAID configurer screen where I have created a RAID 5 mirror of two Samsung SP2004C 200 GB drives.  I have installed Windows including the F6 install third party driver for JMB362 controller.  Everything runs in Windows just fine.  When a restart is called for, either from installing a program or for any other reason, the systems POSTS, shows the RAID mirror from the JMicron BIOS, shows the device list from the ESCD, then hangs at a flashing cursor without starting windows.

If I reset the computer, it boots all the way into Windows just fine.  I cannot for the life of me determine why this is. The BIOS is current.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You have to replace one item at a time to find the culprit. Begin with reinstalling the (F6) drivers. Rebuild the RAID (should be in the RAID BIOS). Replace the controller. etc ...
