Question : Problem: programmatic sending of text messages

my client wants his web form to be texted to him.  He has Sprint, which does have a web interface for originating/sourcing the sending of text messages, but i cannot find an API interface.

is this possible?

I believe the protocal used to connect to a carrier remotely and send a text message is called "TAPI". Beyond that, I havnt found a way.
