Question : Problem: Replacing Battery on Compaq Presario 2100US Laptop
I have a Compaq Presario 2100US laptop which has a dead lithium-ion battery (SIMPLO P/N: 916-2150). Thus I can only use it when plugged into A/C.
I found someone who is selling their working battery, but it doesn't have exactly the same specs. The dead one in my laptop is rated as follows (14.8V, 4000mAH).
I believe the other candidate is rated as 14.8V and either 4400 or 4800mAH (I have yet to confirm the exact number on the mAH).
My question is can I use a battery w/ a higher mAH on my computer and have it work properly and more importantly not damage my laptop? I know nothing about this subject, so any advice would be appreciated.
Answer : Problem: Replacing Battery on Compaq Presario 2100US Laptop
the higher MAh will extend the battery's life time.
the volts are what you are really concerned about.
ie: 4000mah = 3hrs, 4800mah = 3.5hrs
