Question : Problem: Network Scanning - Xerox M20i

Hello,  we recently purchased a Xerox Workcenter M20i and it has been working great for us.  I just went to set up the scanner on it, installed the scanning software on a test workstation (WinXP Pro), installed the drivers, and then tried to scan.  The message I get when I try to scan is "Port is disabled.  Ensure that port is properly connected and power is on, Then restart your computer."   I chased this problem through Xerox tech support, and they tell me that the scanning on this machine has to be done via paralell or USB port, not through the LAN connection on the Workcenter.  Does anybody know of a way to make true network scanning on this machine available?  Thanks, Mike

Sorry, this is an excellent network priniting solution but it is effectively a standalone scanner :(

You could connect a dedicated machine to it and allow RDC across the network
