Question : Problem: Dual vs. Quad Core - Which to get?

Hi,

I'm in a dilema for which system to get

Either

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz, 1333MHz, 6MB)
OR
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 (2.66GHz, 1333MHz, 6MB)

I'm getting a 64 bit Vista OS wih this too from Dell.
I PROBABLY will  be using this system fir Virtual computing, but may become just my main PC for day to day work.

I assume if VMWare machine Quad core is a no brainer right? But is the 0.5Mhz drop in processor speed a bit of a hit to take.

I would go with the quad core, especially that the price isn't much higher than the dual core. You can also check this link:
