Question : Problem: SigmaTel High Definition Audio in Sony Vaio can't start

Hello,

I am working on a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ14E laptop with Windows XP Pro.  It originally came with Vista Home Premium on it, but now has XP on it instead.  The sound is not working.  Under System Properties -> Device Manager it shows to have the speaker icon with a yellow exclamation point for "SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec".  Under properties of that it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".

Can someone please help!?!?!

Thanks...

Answer : Problem: SigmaTel High Definition Audio in Sony Vaio can't start

This device cannot start. (Code10). <===== self explanatory and typically caused by wrong or no driver.

Go here and select your Appropriate model since your SPECIFIC model isnt defined above and download the latest driver for Win XP. If you can't find your drivers, use the AUTOMATED "Download Taxi" which should detect your model and installed hardware, along with your OS and get the drivers for you...

I hope this helps.
