Question : Problem: SCCM 2007 - Alternate account to using IUSR_<serverName>?

Hi
Currently migrating to SCCM from SMS.  The servers have to be located in an OU with a GPO restricting IIS (All normal stuff!).  MP and SUP roles have been split off onto separate servers.  with the GPO applied, the MP stops working displaying a 401 Unauthorised error in the SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER test.  When the Guests group is removed from the Deny Access to this computer from the Network GPO setting.

Is there a way to use a defined account other than having to use the IUSR_ account, and so therefore allow the guests group to access the server?  This way I can assign an access account rather than enabling anonymous access to the server.

Thanks in advance

Answer : Problem: SCCM 2007 - Alternate account to using IUSR_<serverName>?

Problem resolved!!

The issue was due to the fact that the IUSR_ account is by default put into the Guests local group.  This combined with a GPO explicitly denying access to the server from the the network to the guests group, combined for it to not work.

Removed IUSR from group, MP worked again, as simple as that!

Hope this helps ant that follow..
