Question : Problem: HP LaserJet 8150 Stacker Bin -- Assigning Users output to specific bins

I'm a computer support specialist working for a company running primarily windows xp pro machines. We have about 75 staff in our office. Recently, I deployed a pre-imaged computer to a member of our underwriting department. Within this department, the users print to a common (networked) printer called HP LaserJet 8150. After deploying this reimaged machine, the user is no longer able to output documents to bin # 4 of the larger 8-space stacker tray. To troubleshoot, I set her "old" PC up in our computer room and have been pouring over it but with no joy. Is there a machine-specific setting that allows all printed output to be directed to one particular tray in a 8-space stacker tray? There doesn't APPEAR to be any setting server side or printer side that I change. This problem is not affecting any other users. Just the one users whose machine was replaced with a reimaged machine. Thanks for any help!!

Answer : Problem: HP LaserJet 8150 Stacker Bin -- Assigning Users output to specific bins

Greetings

You need to set the driver properties correct. I assume the driver is installed locally and the user is printing directly to the device (no point and print)

- right click queue, properties
- Devce Settings Tab
- Down the list: accessory output bin needs to be set to 8-bin MAILBOX Mode, if you set otther modes (eg. Stacker/Stapler, the choice will not show up in the interface for the user)

and then, and only then you will have the choice of the destination bins in the printing preferences.

cheers
