Question : Problem: Dell monitor flashes on, then goes blank

I have two of these monitors.  When you turn on the PC, the display briefly flashes on, then goes blank.  The behavior is identical with BOTH monitors.  I have replaced the VGA cable and it's the same.  I have plugged the monitor into two different PCs and it's the same.  What are the chances that both monitors have the same hardware issue?  One originally came with the PC.  The other was purchased on eBay.  Please help me figure out what is going on here.  Thank you.

If it doesn't work on any pc, it could be both monitors. Try a laptop if you can also.

The LCD has a small flouresent light which is what lights it up. I have seen a lot more than 2 of the same model go bad within 30 days of each other. All with that same issue, working but no picture. Or just a faint, faint picture, which would mean the bulb is out.
