Question : Problem: Need original restore disk for compaq presario 1510T laptop

I replace the cd drive on a presario 1510T, but XP won't recognize it.  Replacing XP with a generic didn't work, and now wi-fi (with a PCMIA card) won't configure.  Anyone have an original restore disk?:" My daughter lost the original that came with the machine.
